Frank’s 40th release, in four years, takes a darker turn. The title references the old Irish ballad that Frank used to hear sung live by local lads at the end of an evening when he worked in an Irish pub many years back. Four years ago, Numen Records put out the first Frank Joshua release, Panic In The Kitchen.  To mark this anniversary we’re releasing this EP, headed up by an evocative reworking of that song.  "Panic in the Kitchen (Whitelight Retake)" by Frank Joshua is a masterful remodelling of an already powerful song. By incorporating ambient and post-rock elements akin to those found in Sigur Rós's music, the retake transforms the intimate ballad into a more expansive and emotionally resonant piece. The soothing edges of the new arrangement offer a sense of comfort and acceptance, inviting listeners to reflect on the themes of aging and identity in a more contemplative and peaceful manner. This is Frank's 39th release in under 4 years.

“Mad About You” is a song about forgetting the troubles of the world when you find yourself thinking about the one you love.  It contains a beautiful acoustic guitar riff, signature affecting male vocals, intelligent lyrics, and punchy yet calm drums.  I am promoting it with Facebook and Google ads and organic socials.  It is my 38th release since Dec 2020 and will feature on my 4th album in 2025.  It would fit perfectly on the official Spotify singer-songwriter playlist or anything featuring Chill, thoughtful tunes.

Originally released as an album track on Frank's 2nd album 'Talk Of Thing', 'Torture' now gets its own chance to shine.  Mainly due to the perseverance of Chicago based radio show 'BAD Waves Radio' who have been plugging the track since 2022.

House beats, singer-songwriter vibes and lyrics about toxic relationships and the harm they do, Torture is yet another genre shift from the faceless Mr Joshua.  Who has been described as providing “A timeless universe of melodic pop” with each of his 34 released since Dec 2020.

The penultimate release before Frank’s 3rd Album, is a beautiful, gentle ballad.  As ever the lyrics aren’t quite what they seem, as with the title line “You hurt me and you’re beautiful and but for this would I resist your Kiss.”  The sparce arrangement building and complimenting as it unfolds.

Mr Joshua has put out an astonishing 33 releases since Dec 2020.  Described as none-stop "enigmatic dream-pop", his ‘No Face💙Just Music’ designation just adds to the intrigue.  His ‘quality at pace’ release strategy is hard to argue with and shows no sign of slowing down.

Release number 32 by Mr Joshua, takes a darker turn. 

In 'On This Night' we hear a new and desperate tone to Frank's lyrics, "praying for purpose, needing a voice".  

There cannot be many artists in the current era releasing the quality and pace of material that we're seeing from Frank Joshua.  Beautifully crafted, written and sung, and still under the shadow of his 'No Face💙Just Music' approach. 

April 2024 will see the release of his third album, ‘Turn To Your Soul’ but we have the penultimate release 'Kiss' to go before then.

Release No 31 is a sparse ballad, where harsh lyrics butt up against beautiful piano.  “Being a victim of this heart” can sound like an excuse for poor behaviour or an explanation of pain.  As ever Frank prefers the listener to make up their own mind.

With just two more releases to come before album No 3, Joshua’s ‘quality at pace’ release strategy is filling his catalogue with intrigue and gorgeousness.

This is Mr Joshua’s 25th release since Dec 2022 and again he takes an unexpected turn.  Grooves that could have come out of the 1970s flow under yet another lyrical song tapestry, that takes you places in your head to chill and reflect.  In case it’s not obvious, the title refers to the famous London taxicab, in a song about fear and love and finding solace in something you know probably isn’t good for you.  The 4th track of Frank coming 3rd album, Patent Leather Car takes a gentle trip around the dance floor with wistful abandon.

Millionaire is a song about finding love in adversity, under the harsh light of disapproval and condemnation.  Sensual and provoking, Frank’s exploration of the forbidden, and the release from constraint, plays out against a beautiful, delicate soundscape of retro drum patterns and smooth orchestration.  Haven’t you ever desired something you shouldn’t have?

Hints or Arabic rhythms mixed with traditional singer-songwriter, introduce Frank’s first single from his coming 3rd album and his 22nd release in just over 2 years.  Again we see his trademark top notch production, warm vocals and insightful lyrics making their mark. Frank’s main strength is surely his song-writing, which underpins the whole project and catches the attention of reviewers.

The lyric delves into the gap between first blush and commitment in a new romance.  The fear and hope that collides within us as we tentatively explore someone else's feelings and compare them to our own.

Free (Jon Kennedy Remix) - For the 3rd time, trip-hop producer Jon Kennedy has been drafted in to reshape a Frank Joshua tune, and what a charm this one is. Jon's ability to mix styles and grooves, to suit Joshua's eloquent vocals and lyrics, is quite stunning. The track leans on the original but quickly takes its own path, culminating in the anthemic third phase when Kennedy's hypnotic synth leaves you reaching for repeat. With lyrical content tackling the thorny issue of toxic relationships and when to leave, this is the final track from Joshua's Album 'Talk Of Things' which accompanies this release.

Frank’s second album brings together a couple of new tracks with the best of the remixes from his debut album ‘Sense Life’.  From the upbeat remix of ‘Rain’ to the Dream Pop of ‘What Price a Smile’, the album holds the attention and keeps you guessing in the manner we’ve come to expect from Frank.  There can’t be many new artists who can stretch themselves across such a range of genres so effortlessly.  Look out for tracks from his third album soon.

The demo for this tune was taken by the presenters of Chicago based radio show, BAD Waves Radio, about a year ago. They kept playing it without permission and got great reactions so we decided to release it and include it on the forthcoming album.

The first single from Frank's second album 'Talk Of Things' (out in Jan 2023) this is a dance anthem for the limbs and the heart. With lyrics that speak of the sadness of miscommunication and the deliberately obtuse, Joshua again brings his lyrical dexterity together with immaculate production and elegant vocals. This is Frank's 19th release in 2 years. A pace which shows no sign of abating as his next album release approaches in the new year. The 3rd album is already nearing completion.

Trip-hop/Dad-step producer Jon Kennedy has taken a second bite at a Frank Joshua track from the debut album 'Sense Life'.  Melding singer-songwriter with trip-hop shouldn't work this well but it does!

This is Frank's 17th release (in 22 months) on Numen Records.   And is the penultimate release before the release of his next album 'Talk of Things' which comes out in the new year.

This is Azido 88’s second Frank Joshua remix from Frank’s debut album ‘Sense Life’.  The last melding of singer-songwriter and Lo-fi (‘Rain’ released in June) was Frank’s most successful release to date and this Cry Blue remix is taking a similar line.

The Greed and the Hunger (Whitelight Remix) is the 14th release by Frank Joshua and the 3rd remix off his debut album, 'Sense Life'. 

This artist is really on a role with a second album already in the studio.

The original of Rain is filled with poetic lyricism taking us on a vulnerable journey as our protagonist sings, “I came by your window tonight and I can’t stop the pouring of the rain” whilst he serenades his muse. The remix opens with enigmatic guitar and pulsating bass with a textured riser, and features a more syncopated energy than the album version.

We love the strings before a lo-fi vocal chop drop captivates us as Frank Joshua sings “stop the Rain”. The Azido 88 Remix is the second remix release from Sense Life which cohesively fuses Frank’s warm, beautiful vocals and dark lyrics, into Azido 88’s hip-hop style.

Azido 88 is a well established, Asia based, UK born, producer, DJ and finger drummer, with over 600,000 monthly Spotify listeners, and the remix is unique in it’s own right, keeping the emotion from Joshua’s vocals but still dimensionalizing the opus with Azido 88‘s specific energy.

"Loneliest Place in the World" unfolds in the suspended moments before dawn at a deserted railway station. The last traces of night linger in the air as birds begin to announce the morning. Amid the empty platforms and fading darkness, two solitary figures briefly become aware of one another.

What begins as a stark, physical landscape gradually opens into something more dreamlike. The station becomes a place where worlds overlap. A mysterious female presence seems to exist in two realities at once: part memory, part traveller, part spirit of another place. At times she inhabits the abandoned station; at others she appears within an endless equatorial forest of rain, rivers and waterfalls, where light and darkness merge and time loses its meaning.

The song explores those fleeting moments when two lives intersect through chance, circumstance and longing. For an instant, chaos aligns into perfect balance and connection seems possible. Then the moment passes, each soul returns to its own journey, and the vast solitude of existence reasserts itself.
